This is a unique opportunity that has just arisen to offer 6 rods fishing on the Upper River Jokla in the North East of Iceland for two, four-day hosted trips during the 2025 season.

Noel and I will be there to host each group at the lovely old farmhouse which is in close proximity to the miles of fishing which will be available to our 6 rods who will be fishing the entire Upper Jokla.

Each person will have their own room with shared bathrooms, and the package includes food, and one guide for every two anglers.

The Jokla system lies just north of Egilsstadir town and runs a 100 km course from the eastern slopes of the Batnajokull glacier to the sea.  There is a hydro electric dam at the very top of the river which was built in 2006 and now for most of the summer the river runs clear, still glacial but clear.

The fishery has been boosting the natural stocks with a smolt releasing programme using fish bred from Jokla natives, and due to this the river is increasing with salmon catches each year making this a very popular destination for the salmon angler.  The fish are also being released into all the major tributaries throughout the system, and there are 5 rivers in this amazing system with some of them also holding a good healthy head of trout and char.  The River Jokla landed 1,161 salmon for their short season just gone.

As well as great fishing, this is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with pool after pool of fishable water.

Please get in touch with me if you would like me to send you a PDF or to ask any questions regarding the trip.
